The
watchtower Filzbach Vor dem Wald was built around 15 BC during the alp campaigns together
with the towers of the Biberlichopf and
Amden Stralegg. This towers had sight connection
The tower Filzbach was at the pass street over the Kerenzer.
The wall at the valley-side was 2.50 meters broad. The other walls were
1.3 meters broad. A preserved floor of 30 cm thickness consisted of a mixture of stone
fragments, sand and lime. It could have been a former water reservoir.
At the southeast and southwest corner began semi round walls, which ran up to the steep slope. The walls of this enclosure walls were 0.75 meter broad.
Among other things were found a fragment of a clay vessel in lion form, pieces of pottery and three tops of throw spears (pilum).
