Saturday, 01.07.2006 - Colombier, Neuchâtel

PorticusThe farm of Colombier had at least a surface of 135 to 170 meters, without the adjoining buildings.

The main building was on the present castle terrace. It was oriented to east. The core building was 69 to 21 meters large and consisted of living rooms. A porticus was on the western side.

In front of the main facade in the east was a two-storey porticus. It had on both sides projection corners. The lower porticus (cryptoporticus) was reached by stairs.

PeristyleThe protection corners later were expanded to inside. Later ware built further rooms in the west. A peristyle was between that. In the south of the peristyle was built a bath with some rooms.

A further bath from 22 to 17 meters was in the east below the main building.

Among other things following was found in the villa rustica: four duskish columns of marble, a capital, a column basis and a mussel-shaped cymbal of marble. As well as fragments of slabs and cornices, mosaics and mural paintings.
