At the site of the present
church Saint Martin was build in the 2nd and 3rd century a building.
1938 were found the rests of a mortar floor, a hypocaust heating and fragments of bricks and pottery. It could have been a question of a relay (mutatio).
Perhaps this place could be a question of Lapidaria which is listed on the tabula peutingeriana. However, this place is localized possibly also in the not far Andeer.
Later was build a church with a 17,5 to 8 m hall building with a large half-round priest bench, and a large annex with 3 rooms, which is dated around the year 500.
The remains of these buildings are today not (public?) accessible. The visit of the church and a exhibition is liable to pay.
A cave which was used as cult place was in the proximity. In accordance with the found of coins this place was used in the 3rd and 4th century AD. A ring vessel can be assigned unambiguously to an oriental cult maybe the Mithraism. Burials toke place until the 7th century.
Obviously was paid homage to a late-roman cult near the church. In the 8th/9th century's the sanctuary was destroyed presumably through Christians. The cave and the forecourt were filled up with 1 - 1.5 m material. The cave seems not to be publicly accessible today.
