At this place was a - presumably important - relay (mutatio). It was excavated in the years 1974/75 and 1980 to 1983.
The
arrangement consisted of a main building, a bath-building, a bakery and various
adjoining buildings.
The main building was 19 to 30 meters large. It had a central courtyard (?), the northern part was covered. On the west side was the living-section. A portico was on the eastern side (valley side). The portico (cryptoporticus?) was decorated with wall and ceiling paintings from the 1st to 2nd century AD. A room in the southwest corner of the building had a hypocaust. In the western part was built later a channel heating.
An adjoining building was 12 to 34 meters large. It had a hall and a valley-sided portico. The hall was subdivided later. One room had a hypocaust. Several buildings were on the northern side.
The bath-building had presumably several rooms. One room was 4.3 to 4.7 m large and had a hypocaust. The bakery had a stove. From further timber constructions still the post holes were found.
Following was found among other things: a lock, keys, jewelry, tools, coins and pieces of pottery. The pieces of pottery - also terra sigillata - are from the middle of the 1st century AD up to the 4th century.
