I don't know much about the roman past of this place. I have no information about the construction time, extension and abandon of this buildings.
In the years 1802, 1877, 1905 and 1906
were found rests of a roman villa rustica. These were at least from the mansion and the
bath-building. Latter one was found in the centre of the present Baugy.
In that was found the hypocaust, a mosaic floor and fragments of a further. Mural painting rests with leaf twigs and bird motives on white background were found too.
The mosaics are dated in the years of 200 to 250 AD.
Today it is difficult to determine the middle of Baugy. It is either east of the street to Chailly or, however, also along the street to Burier. References to the roman farm are not however available.
