Additional information to the excavation places in Spain |
Most roman buildings in Spain I looked up are not freely accessible. I.e. the business hours are important. Due to the siesta there is a longer lunch hour (mostly 2 pm to 4/5 pm). Often is furthermore on Monday closed.
The information on site is very different. This is solved very good in Cartagena and Tarragona. One receives on each place a small leaflet in English. In Merida one receives an information pamphlet about all buildings (English) with the ticket. Most other places hand out a leaflet also.
In Cordoba the notices are unfortunately only in Spanish (except the English notice near the aqueduct). There are none information in Cabanes, Ronda la Vieja and Almuñéncar.
