In the village church of Berdorf a four Gods stone is used today as an altar base.
It was
a component of an Iupiter-Giant-column which stood at the place of the church. An Iupiter-Giant-column
had following components: Four Gods stone, week Gods stone, column, Iupiter with giant.
The four Gods stone had on its four sides usually following Gods: Iuno, Minerva, Mercury and Hercules. The stone of Berdorf shows following Gods however: Hercules, Apollo, Minverva and Iuno.
The week Gods stone had eight sides. On seven were the week Gods represented: Luna, Mars, Mercury, Iupiter, Venus, Saturn and Sol. On the eighth side could have been a consecration inscription of the donator.
Usually Iupiter was riding a horse and with a flash of lightning in his hand above a giant.
Except of the four Gods stone no remains of the column were found obviously. It seems that it belonged to a farm.
