Near the
present farms Lerchensand and Schattrueti 1837 parts of a roman farm were dug up for the first time.
This must have been approximately at the coordinates 642 050/230 650.
In 1906 a more precise excavation toke place. Brick and pieces of pottery fragments, coins, Venus terra-cotta and column rests were found. Obviously the position of the foundation walls was not discovered.
The book "The Roman in Switzerland" indicates that the halves of a column are to be seen as cornerstones of a house in the Lerchensand, insurance number 194. A column basis should be visible in the garden of a house, insurance number 285, at the Obere Kirchfeldstrasse.
On the local map near the post office numbers are listened (land register numbers?). The mentioned house numbers are listened, however, at other streets.
In the Lerchensand nothing indicates the farm. I could not find the house no. 194. I searched for the house no. 285 unfortunately at the wrong street.
