Saturday, 29.03.2003 - Tschugg, Berne
The bath-building of a villa rustica in the present Tschugg was built around AD 40. It was altered four times. At the latest around AD 190/200.
The bath-building of the 4th stage had 9 rooms. 3 had a hypocaust. Two rooms had mosaic floors.
I
have this information from the book "Die
Römer in der Schweiz (The Roman in Switzerland)". The position is
described as follows: southeast slope of the Jolimont, below the castle Tschugg on the
fields "Duerriraebe" and "Steiacher".
This must be approximately at the coordinates 572 150/208 200.
