The town sited on the mountain São Romão was settled approximately from the 1st century BC to the 1st century AD.
Against its end also roman influences are recognizable. The place was used again in the Middle Ages.
Until today four defense walls with their ditches, different streets and more than 150 houses (round, elliptical or
square) were found. A round house with 11 meters diameter could have been a kind
of meeting house.
At the
bottom of the settlement a cistern with cold and steam bath was found furthermore.
