Back to the report about Portugal |
I know nothing about this town. Presumably it was a question of a municipium.
Today
are to see two gate arches of the town wall. Furthermore
other wall rests are preserved under a shelter. It could be a question at of thermal springs.

Near the town was built in the 1st century BC a villa.
The building consisted of different rooms which were
grouped around an atrium.
A bath building with frigidarium,
tepidarium, caldarium and a large
natatio was next to that.
The mansion and the
bath building was altered and expanded at least once. The villa was supplied with water by an own
reservoir.
The villa rustica was given up in the 4th century AD. This link gives still more information about the building (Portuguese).
