The place is on a plateau with marvelous view. It is a question of a foundation of the Volkser from the 4th century BC. The Volkser were definitely defeated from the Romans in 320 BC.
The town was built within a 2.5 km long Cyclopes wall.
This wall is preserved today very well and is still some meters highly. The excavation ground is to enter through a former town gate. This is blocked however from not nearer specified reasons. Two informative signa indicate however, that the place was accessible formerly.
Temple, forum and also the Acropolis would be visible. From that presumably only the foundation walls remained preserved.
