Early Middle Ages cemetery church

The church is at the end of the Rue de la Lombardie. Between the excavation ground and one new built multi-storey car park is a tower block. From its rear the look onto the ground is free. Cemetery church
Four years ago parts of the excavation were with a provisional shelter covered. Today all remains are free without protection. Along the foundation outlines are to the part dug in plastic awnings, presumably to prevent a sliding. Cemetery church

There are visible the foundations of the cemetery church from the 5th - 6th century and the first (later) annexes. It is difficult to make out all outlines because surely no preserving occurred.

The ground plan is visible on a chart on site. Ground plan

Thermal springs

The thermal springs are located under the church St. Théodule. On the right of the front door some stairs lead in the basement. Presumably the excavation is behind one of the three doors. Each was closed however.

In accordance with information of the tourist office the thermal springs are only to be visited with guided tours. This on Monday and Thursday in each case at 16.00 o'clock.

It is surely understandable to earn money for the maintenance with guided tours. I do not believe however that less guided tours occur if the thermal springs are opened also freely. The fear of vandals should be not to great, finally the entry is in the church.
